Moka Tales, otherwise known as kmoka.com (pronounced k – mocha dot com), started in February 2004 as part of a blog class at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Taught by one of the greatest instructors on campus, the blog class taught me the art of blogging, reaffirmed my belief in the freedom of speech and the ability to have a presence on the net.
On Christmas Day in 2005, kmoka.com died when the server that hosted this site crashed. The hosting company, Affordable Host (link not provided because I think they suck monkey balls), was unable to recover the data. Two subdomains, fatfriendly and family, died that day as well. Two glorious years of blogging down the internet toilet. Sigh.
Fast forward to now… the site is up and productive. There are at least six loyal readers (maybe seven) that check out the site occasionally. Content mostly comes from the thousands of thoughts and ideas banging around in my brain… I just wish my brain could magically post the material saving my eyes, fingers and wrists some work. Some thoughts and ideas are good, some bad, and some comes from me wanting to do some good ‘ole fashioned bitching. You’ll read some things about my life but never about work (where, when and why) because people can get fired for writing about work on their blogs and work gets enough of my time already — it doesn’t need my website time too.
Comments are most welcome but are moderated because of the fucking spam bots. Progress to this site will be ongoing so keep checking back.
